I'm boutta print up some & i've got the right paper, micr ink, software & everything needed. But my question is do the checks need to have a valid account number at the bottom? for those familiar w the micr codes u know that they show the routing number of the bank (public info) & account number among some other info. but the account & routing are most important.

If i wanted to print up a fake payroll check for a local business and cash it at a local grocery or check cashing store (using a fake ID), would their check franking systems detect a made up account number despite every single other one of the check security measures being valid? or would they just auto verify it like the banks do, hand the cash, and wait 3 days for the check to clear on their end?

All depends on what bank the company uses to payout, you’re better off trying to find a real one and making your own with the acct info in the real one But I have not tried to make any checks myself...

yea i do that already i was just tryna explore new methods bc i know most stores like walmart will cash payroll checks which are generally printed on that cheap check paper u can get off amazon. so i was thinkking it'd be easy to get... lets say a boa routing number and slap on a random acc number just so they'd let it pass thru
