is there any legal problem using e-gift cards

I have one quesiton about gift cards. Is there any problem If I bought something with gift card as you know a lot of members are selling to gifts on forum section but I dont know If I used to gift cards for buy to something, does it legal problem for me. for example what about amazon gift cards. Risk in everything when you overdo it. I ran into issues at nordstrom with 5k in egift. Bitch had lp research my gc and find out they were purchased illegally. They couldnt do shit but they followed me and try to get my license plate. It was a high end neighborhood and I was a minority.
