In today's digital world, securing your online accounts is crucial. One of the best ways to protect your account is by enabling two-factor authentication (2FA), which adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second code in addition to your password. In this guide, we'll walk through how to set up 2FA on forum using the KeePassXC password manager.

Step 1: Installing and Setting Up KeePassXC

Before configuring two-factor authentication, make sure you have KeePassXC installed on your device. KeePassXC is a secure and convenient password manager that supports the generation of one-time tokens (TOTP) for 2FA.

1. Download KeePassXC from the official website.
2. Install the application following the instructions.
3. Create a new KeePass database or open an existing one where you'll store your passwords.

Step 2: Enabling Two-Factor Authentication on CrPro

1. Log into your Crdpro forum account.
2. Navigate to your security settings. This can usually be found by clicking on your profile, then locating the "Password and security" section.
3. Look for the option to enable 2FA, labeled Two-step verification and click Change.
4. Put your account password
5. Choose the time-based one-time password (TOTP) option for compatibility with KeePassXC.

The forum will generate a QR code or provide a secret key to configure 2FA.

Step 3: Configuring 2FA in KeePassXC

Now that you have a QR code or secret key, you need to add it to KeePassXC to generate the one-time tokens.

1. Open KeePassXC and select your entry for XenForo or create a new entry if you don’t have one yet.
2. Right-click the entry and choose Edit Entry.
3. Go to the TOTP tab (Time-based One-Time Password).
4. If you have a QR code:
- Use KeePassXC's QR Scanner to automatically read the QR code and add the TOTP data to your entry.
- Click the camera icon next to the Secret Key field and scan the QR code displayed on your screen.
5. If you have a text-based secret key:
- Copy and paste it into the Secret Key field.
6. Click OK to save the changes.

KeePassXC will now generate one-time passwords (TOTP) that you can use for logging.

Step 4: Finalizing the Setup on XenForo Forum

1. Go back to the 2FA settings on XenForo.
2. Enter the one-time code generated by KeePassXC.
3. Click Confirm or Activate.

Once you successfully enter the one-time password, two-factor authentication will be enabled for your CrdPro account.

Step 5: Using Two-Factor Authentication for Login

From now on, each time you log in, you’ll need to enter both your password and a one-time code generated by KeePassXC. Here’s how:

1. Open KeePassXC and select your CrdPro entry.
2. Go to the TOTP tab and copy the generated code.
3. Paste the code into the 2FA field on CrdPro login page.
