Tosint is a community-maintained tool for collecting structured intelligence from Telegram bots, channels and group chats.
Designed for security analysts and investigators, it automates extraction of relevant metadata/context from public sources.

Typical Uses​

Investigative teams and some law-enforcement units use this utility to monitor illicit activity and gather actionable leads.

What it collects:​

• Bot metadata: display name, username, ID, status, and whether the bot has permission to read group messages.
• Chat metadata: title, chat type (channel or group), username and invite link (if available).
• Contextual details: member counts and a list of administrators with roles and privileges.

Operational Benefits​

By tracking channel identifiers, invite links and admin accounts over time, analysts can detect shifts in criminal behavior. Examples:
Transitions between phishing and malware campaigns, changes in geographic or language targeting or re-targeting of victim types.

The project uses Telegram’s official API and is actively maintained. New API features are incorporated as they become relevant.​

Diseñado para analistas e investigadores de seguridad, automatiza la extracción de metadatos/contexto relevantes de fuentes públicas.

Usos típicos​

Los equipos de investigación y algunas unidades policiales utilizan esta utilidad para monitorear actividades ilícitas y reunir pistas útiles.

Qué recoge:​

• Metadatos del bot: nombre para mostrar, nombre de usuario, ID, estado y si el bot tiene permiso para leer mensajes del grupo.
• Metadatos del chat : título, tipo de chat (canal o grupo), nombre de usuario y enlace de invitación (si está disponible).
• Detalles contextuales: número de miembros y una lista de administradores con roles y privilegios.

Beneficios operativos​

Al rastrear identificadores de canales, enlaces de invitación y cuentas de administrador a lo largo del tiempo, los analistas pueden detectar cambios en el comportamiento delictivo. Ejemplos:
Transiciones entre campañas de phishing y malware, cambios en la segmentación geográfica o lingüística o reorientación de los tipos de víctimas.

El proyecto utiliza la API oficial de Telegram y se mantiene activo. Incorpora nuevas funciones de la API a medida que son relevantes.​
